History of a Woodward family with roots in Warwickshire, England (1700-2011)
The story begins with a John Woodward and Hannah, born in the early 1700s, and traces the history of the next twelve generations that lived in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire, England.
In the 18th century the family lived at Alcester, Aston Cantlow and Wilmcote in Warwickshire, and at Inkberrow and Egiock in Worcestershire. One prominent member was born in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds (Gloucestershire) in the 1860s, and in the 1880s the family migrated to Oldbury and Smethwick in the West Midlands. At the end of the 19th century they moved to Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire and in the 1960s settled in Nottingham.
